PARAGON
OVERVIEW

About Paragon Innovations Inc.

Paragon Innovations was founded in 1990 to fill a specialized niche in the engineering product development market -- real time embedded systems. Embedded systems are taking over control of consumers’ daily lives -- microwave ovens, coffee makers, VCRs, antilock braking systems and exercise machines are all made smarter by embedded systems. To be experts in embedded system design, we combine electronics and software design expertise with an understanding of numerous new applications.

Paragon's success is based on our technical skills, our dedication to excellence, and attention to detail. We offer a unique conclusion to our projects; each client receives an Engineer-in-a-Notebook™, a notebook with all details relating to the project, including design specifications, part numbers, and vendor contacts.

Embedded Systems

Embedded systems can be described as an electronic subsystem that provides the heartbeat of a larger system. Computers, cellular phones, cardiac monitors, anti-lock brake systems, even coffee makers house embedded systems.

For developers and manufacturers, the need to outsource embedded systems increases as product palettes expand and technology becomes more complex. A recent study by the ARC Group, for instance, stated that almost half of all shipped mobile computing devices will contain embedded wireless cellular data modems by 2006.

Consistent Growth

Since its inception, Paragon Innovations has grown into a national leader of embedded system design, development and documentation. The company was twice recognized by The Dallas Business Journal as North Texas' fastest growing technology companies. Paragon has also been the recipient of the prestigious SMASHING 60 award.

The Complete Package

As technology grows more complex, companies must increasingly outsource key development tasks. Working with Paragon can turn this potentially risky process into a positive experience. Paragon's ability to work with clients "from start to success" is a key factor.

Paragon’s Outsourcing Guide™ provides clients new to outsourcing with step by step instructions and expectations for the outsourcing process. Our Engineer-in-a-Notebook™ provides the client with all the details required to successfully produce the final product.

Inside Paragon

Paragon Innovations develops embedded systems for the wireless, telephony, medical, Internet, robotics and semiconductor industries, among others. Customers include 3M, CC Technologies, Halliburton, Hitachi, Matsushita/Panasonic, Motorola, and Netbotz.

The company’s embedded development skill has been applied to products such as miniaturized insulin pumps, a robotic arm join controller, wireless telecommunications systems and serial-to-Ethernet gateway devices.

Paragon’s team develops an understanding of the client company’s business goals. Our bilingual staff understands how to design both electronics hardware and firmware. This unique combination allows our staff to quickly make the best design decisions without time consuming negotiations between department

Communications

One of Paragon's greatest differentiators and value-added benefits is its client communication.

All customers receive "The Paragon Outsourcing Guide," a comprehensive notebook and teaching tool that outlines the entire technology design life-cycle, as well as Paragon's innovative approach.

Change is inevitable for design projects. Paragon’s MPT™ issue tracking system ensures that changes are tracked and controlled from recognition of a need through implementation of a solution.

The progress of each project can be tracked through a secure extranet web site. This site gives the client up to the minute access on project status and design documentation.

Paragon's Engineer-in-a-Notebook™ journals every process, step and specification of a customer's technology design, from beginning to end. This central repository of intellectual property acts as a short- and long-term resource for production, product upgrades and more.

The Secret to Success

Success comes when customers are consistently happy, when deadlines are met, when designs meet or exceed expectations, and when all details from start to success are well documented and delivered. We give customers an experience and a finished product they never knew was possible.
